This 13cm serrated utility knife is designed specifically for cutting through 'tough to cut' fruits and vegetables. Tomatoes, of course, but also kiwis, plums, apples, and other fruits.
These knives are especially useful when the fruit's centre is soft or watery, and cutting through it with pressure could result in an explosion of the fruit's contents. The serrated blade reduces pressure on the exterior skin without damaging the fruit or vegetable.
