During his playing days in Puerto Rico, cigar icon and jazz musician Avo Uvezian mentioned that he would often purchase a few local cigars each evening and thoughtfully place them on top of the piano for anyone who wanted to enjoy a smoke. Over time, these cigars became increasingly popular among his fans, gaining a reputation for their quality and appeal. In 1987, Uvezian crossed paths with Davidoff's Hendrik "Henke" Kelner, and the two collaborated closely to develop a special cigar tailored specifically for the musician. This exclusive cigar was released the following year and quickly became a success, paving the way for many additional offshoot lines and variations inspired by the original blend.
